Altoona is a city in Blair County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is the principal city of the Altoona Metropolitan Statistical Area radius of the Altoona city center according to U.S. Census ZIP Code population data. Altoona lies at the base of Brush Mountain within Logan Valley and Pleasant Valley. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 9.8 sq mi , all land. Altoona is situated in the Allegheny Mountains.
