I'm a Sheepdog . . .

Founder - Kris P. Moloney

Hi, I’m Kris P. Moloney. I serve the Church by creating training materials for part-time Church Safety / Security Directors who serve medium to small size churches with limited resources. I give them the tools they need to provide reputable and realistic training to their Church Safety Team members without spending hours researching and developing courses from scratch. (No sense in reinventing the wheel!)

I am a Police Officer with over 18 years of experience in Law Enforement and a retired Army Captain and Company Commander. I have certifications in a number of specialties to include Crime Prevention, Security Assessments, and the Crime Free Program. I also have a Bachelor’s degree in Ministry and a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Northwestern College in St. Paul, Minnesota.

When I’m not developing training or consulting with churches, I spend time with my wife and high school sweetheart, Rebecca, and my teenage daughter, Rachel. We enjoy going to the zoo and nerding out on Sci-Fi.

If you’re interested in knowing more, here are a few more things about me:

  • I was deployed to Iraq in 1990 for Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. As a MP (Military Police), I collected Iraqi prisoners from the front line units.
  • I went back to Iraq in 2003 because my luck is just that bad. This time, I served by guarding Saddam Hussein and the “Deck of Cards” (the top Iraqi leaders). I also did a lot of convoy escorts.
  • I am a Krav Maga Instructor (Self-Defense) for Law Enforcement Officers.
  • And I’m a volunteer Church Safety / Security Director just like many of you.

Wesley G. Vaunghn

Hi! I am Wesley G. Vaughn. It is my pleasure to write and edit for Sheepdog Church Security. My Bachelors and Masters degrees are in biblical studies. Most of my work experience is in food service and manufacturing, but also includes being a security officer and teaching biblical studies in college. I have been writing and editing since 2008. This includes content writer for websites, pro bono writer and assistant editor for a local Christian paper, editing books for Christian authors, and now writing for Sheepdog Church Security. I find fulfillment and purpose in bringing a biblical perspective into the subject of church security.

Rachel Moloney

Hello! My name is Rachel M. Moloney, daughter of Kris Moloney. I’m currently attending college to earn my associate degree in Criminal Justice and aspiring towards a career in private security. I’m educated in Criminal and Juvenile Justice, as well as Communications, Sociology, and Ethics. I look forward to working with my father as a virtual assistant and upholding the Sheepdog mission for churches everywhere.

Terry Berringer

Hi, I'm Terry Berringer, a regular Contributing Author to the Church Guardian newsletter. I am the owner/operator of Church Emergency Consulting and helped found, develop, train, and lead the security, parking and medical teams of one of the largest congregations in southwest Pennsylvania for over 20 years. I have experience as a volunteer fireman, Emergency Medical Technician, and Paramedic as well as a CRRN with Pittsburgh’s largest health care system for over 25 years. And, I am DHS and FBI trained. My calling is to share my knowledge and experience with as many churches as possible.
